“Converting Natural Resources: Representations, Performances, Narratives” Two Day Conference

Professor Bronwen Wilson and Elisa Antonietta Daniele (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow), are organizing an upcoming conference entitled “Converting Natural Resources: Representations, Performances, Narratives” held at the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library on Friday and Saturday, December 1-2.

The two-day conference is an opportunity to consider visual, textual, material, and performative engagement with processes of commodification in the early modern world. It shifts the focus from the collection and display of phenomena in cabinets of curiosities, to the mechanisms and processes through which raw materials were converted into commodities.

Attendance is free with advance registration.
