Professor Stephen Whiteman of the Courtauld Institute of Art will give a talk, “Beyond the ‘Global Renaissance’: Imperial Gardens and Early Modern Cosmopolitan Rule in Qing-era Eurasia,” via Zoom on June 8, 2023, from 12:30 pm-1:30 pm PST. The lecture will occur during the third hour of Professor Hui-shu Lee’s undergraduate seminar, China Now: Approaches to Contemporary Chinese Art. The event is also supported by the Center for 17th- and 18th-Century Studies.
