Vital Matters: Doikayt is Hereness at the Fowler Museum
The Department of Art History is pleased to be co-sponsoring Doikayt is Hereness at the Fowler Museum.
This event is a public conversation between visual artist Julie Weitz and UCLA Art History PhD candidate Benjamin Kersten about Weitz’s performance art practice, Yiddish visual culture, and Jewish diaspora. Weaving together live performance, archival imagery, and Weitz’s art, the talk will challenge nostalgic representations of Yiddish culture in the face of historical violence, cultural erasure, and rising antisemitism.
The event will take place on June 7th, from 5:30-7pm at the Fowler Museum.
