The event will feature two guest speakers. \nNaveena Naqvi\, Assistant Professor for the Department of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia\, will be delivering a lecture entitled\, “The Marginal Archive and the Probable Event: Reflections on an Imperial Twilight Zone”. \nYuthika Sharma\, Assistant Professor for the Department of Art History at Northwestern University\, will be delivering a lecture entitled\, “Qalam as Archive: Canonizing Mughal painting in Company India”. \nThe seminar will take place on May 2\, 2024 at 1 PM in Dodd 275. All are welcome to attend.

DESCRIPTION:UCLA Department of Art History Chair Saloni Mathur will be hosting a panel discussion entitled\, “New Perspectives on Chandigarh and Le Corbusier.” The enlightening conversation will feature: \nMaristella Casciato\, Senior Curator and Head of Architectural Collections at the Getty Research Institute\, and author of Le Corbusier\, Album Punjab\,1951 (2024). \nVikramaditya Prakash\, Professor of Architecture at the University of Washington\, Seattle\, and author of (most recently) Le Corbusier’s Chandigarh Revisited: Preservation as Future Modernism (2023) and One Continuous Line: Art\, Architecture and Urbanism of Aditya Prakash (2020). \nEdward Dimendberg (Discussant)\, Professor of Humanities at the University of California\, Irvine\, and author of numerous books on the built environment\, including Diller Scofidio Renfro: Architecture after Images (2013)\, and editor of Los Angeles: The Development\, Life and Structure of the City of Two Million in Southern California (2022). \nThis event will take place on Monday\, May 20\, from 4-6 PM in Room 247 of Dodd Hall. \nAll are welcome to attend.
